Jan Sahas means ‘People’s Courage’. We are, more than a 20 years old, community-centric organization working intensively in 14000+ villages across India. We work with the most excluded social groups on safe migration and workers’ protection; and prevention of sexual violence against women and children.

Safe Migration & Worker Protection

There are 200 million migrant workers in India who are forced to migrate due to lack of livelihood opportunities at home. Poor working conditions, long working hours, lack of water, sanitation or safety equipment and forced labour are perennial problems faced by the migrant workers and their families.

More than three women are raped every hour out of which 43% are girls below 18 years. Jan Sahas, for the last two decades, has been working on the prevention of multiple forms of violence against women and children in several states in India.
